NRR216: Matt Franco "The Bitter Album" C36

In 2014 Matt Franco (Air Conditioning and Holy Family Parish) gave away nine copies of a cassette called The Bitter Album and walked away from music for nearly twelve years. He replaced his guitar with heavy machinery and a life in the quarry, finding a different kind of expression in physical culture and stone lifting. Now receiving its first proper release the album arrives as an unintended prologue to his 2025 return to the stage. While he currently performs entirely different material for cold and amused audiences at open mics, The Bitter Album remains the original document of his departure: a deadpan effort to say goodbye through the simplest means possible.
